The Arctic Hare was the 2011 SCS (Swarovski Crystal Society) event piece that was limited and only available in store during SCS and Designer signing events. While there are several Hare’s available on-line what makes this rare is that it was signed by the designer with a diamond tipped engraving pen. This gorgeous Arctic Hare is crafted in the illuminating Crystal Moonlight color crystal and faceted to enhance the sparkle at every angle. Aside from living in the Arctic, Arctic Hares are unique in that they can run crazy fast, as in close to 40 MPH. They also typically like to live alone (I can relate) but they will occasionally gather in big groups for warmth, totally understandable. Arctic Hares also have their own March Madness, which is how their mating season has been described. As the name suggests, it tends to get rather chaotic with many of the males partaking in more than one female, often resulting in the females fighting off their suitors. Now that you know probably way more than you ever wanted about Arctic Hares let’s get down to business and why this is such a great piece. First, it is cute as hell and the faceted Crystal Moonlight is just gorgeous and it is also the event piece for the first time the annual SCS piece was a stand-alone and not part of a trilogy. It makes a great addition to either your Swarovski, Hare, or Arctic collection and a great gift for collectors of the same. It also makes a super cute gift for that player in your life that likes shiny things. The Arctic Hare is BNIB, with certificate and has only been out for signing and photos.
