Descripción del Artículo
Vintage original 3.75 x 7 in. US herald from the teens WWI-themed war drama, SWEETHEART OF THE DOOMED, released in 1917 by Triangle Distributing Corp. and directed by Reginald Barker.
The front cover depicts Louise Glaum raising her arms in hope as leading man Charles Guy lies wounded in a bed and watches her. This herald is tri-folded and opens twice (measuring 7 x 10.5 inches) to reveal an interior photographic spread with 4 scenes from the film along with a synopsis and credits list. It is in fine- condition.
The film's sets were designed by the art director Robert Brunton.
Embittered by one man's treachery in her youth, adventuress Honore Zonlay nurses a hatred towards all men. Engaged to General Durand of the French army, Honore finds her bitterness dispelled and her heart softened upon meeting Paul Montaigne, a young dispatch carrier. Discarded by the general after he discovers her past, Honore confesses all to Paul, who remains true to his love. When war breaks out, Paul goes to the front and Honore follows, disguised as a nurse. Critically injured, Paul is brought into the hospital where Honore is stationed. There he asks to marry Honore before he dies. The ceremony is performed and Honore prays that her happiness will not be snatched from her by the death of the man she loves. Her plea is answered when Paul is restored to health.
