The bag is wider at the top then at the bottom. Handbag is 9" from top to bottom. Going across top of handbag, it is 12-1/2" wide and 7-3/8" wide at the bottom. With the bag open it can expand to about 3-1/4". Wearing the handbag, the shoulder bag straps are about 26" long on each side unless you tie it in a knot as pictured. The bottom of bag is 2-5/8" wide.
