VINTAGE SET OF 3 RARE EL MOROCCO, NYC NIGHT CLUB - SMALL BAR TABLE AND TWO CHAIRS - INCREDIBLE EARLY AND RARE PIECES - TABLE LABEL MARKED: ?GANGER, INC., (UNUSUAL BARS INTERIORS)? This vintage SET OF THREE SMALL BAR TABLE AND TWO BAR CHAIRS are from the EL MOROCCO, NYC NIGHT CLUB. This set consists of the long narrow table, with a coral-orange smooth-surface top and ridged stainless steel side edges - all is mounted to a cast iron pedestal base with scroll feet. This pedestal base has a tapered column, ending in three scrolled feet of Empire style. The design and position of the feet allows for ample room under the table, and less interference with chair placements. The base is painted in a rich Morocco Blue enamel paint. The chairs are of bentwood framing, with a wooden curved back panel and attached padded seat. The back panel is painted in a coral-orange color, to match the seat color, and the bentwood frame is painted in the matching Moroccan Blue color of the table base. The table is marked with it?s original vintage manufacturer?s label, which reads: ?GANGER, INC., (UNUSUAL BARS INTERIORS), COMPLETE EQUIPMENT, HOTELS * CLUBS * RESTAURANTS * CAFES * TAVERNS, 56 WEST 45th ST., NEW YORK CITY, Phone: MUrray Hill 2-7469-7470?. These pieces are very sturdy, despite the delicate scale, and were built to last. There is some uneven coloring areas on the table top surface, as well as chips in the enamel paint. In addition, there appears to be a slight color variation on the backs of the two chairs. EL Morocco's familiar Schiaparelli glass palm trees, blinking oriental stars against a midnight blue ceiling, and the zebra-striped banquettes, which were the club's renowned trade mark, are clearly on display. There is also a scrapbook of vintage newspaper clippings available. The term "cafe society" correctly describes EL Morocco's patronage. And there is also a original booklet of handwritten early 1950?s original recipes, that are signed and dated by Joe Perona, the Head Chef of the EL MOROCCO NIGHT CLUB, and co-owner with brother, John Perona.
