Inspired by the pre-Columbian footwear believed to be worn for centuries by indigenous farmers in Latin America, these modern incarnations maintain the integrity of the traditional Mexican sandals by using cowhide leather sourced from ranches in Michoacan, Jalisco, and Colima. The leather is vegetable-tanned in Guadalajara using a traditional 200-year old method and handwoven by local artisans in Sahuayo, Michoacan.
