This handmade abstract Moroccan rug made from natural wool and color by hand by the boujad artist.
The Boujad region of the Middle Atlas Mountains in Morocco is home to the Berber women who traditionally weave the extravagant geometric patterns and vibrant hues that define Boujad rugs. These berber area rugs are known for their exceptional durability and artistry; the wool used to weave them is usually hand-spun and hand-dyed, and the rugs are put together using a double-knot technique that produces a fabric that is both dense and tightly woven. Boujad carpets are known for their long lifespan and resistance to deterioration.
