Binding scuffed and rubbed, spine showing red-rot of leather majoritively on re-used spine, but also a small amount at perimeters of boards, paste-downs show evidence of leather treatment encroachment over the years, with staining at times up to two inches into paste-downs only, corners of boards well rubbed, hinges have been reattached/reinforced with tissue paper at some point, fore-edges of text block soiled, text block paper slightly age toned with very light sporadic soiling and foxing. Arthur Young, an 18th-century English writer, is renowned for his detailed accounts of travels in England, Wales, Ireland, and France on the eve of the revolution. This work provides valuable insights into the social, political, and economic conditions of the French countryside during a tumultuous period.
