Oregon Spring tomato (Solanum lycopersicon) is a variety bred specifically for cooler climates, making it ideal for regions with short growing seasons like the Pacific Northwest. Developed at Oregon State University, this tomato was created to thrive in early spring and withstand the cooler temperatures that can hinder other tomato varieties. The plant produces medium-sized, round red tomatoes 3"-4" in diameter with a firm texture and mild, sweet flavor. The foliage is dense and provides good leaf coverage, protecting the fruit from sunscald.
