UP FOR SALE: Vintage 1950s Weiss Signed Crystal Clear Austrian Rhinestone Clip on Earring Set A vintage pair of Austrian Crystal Clip Earrings. These gorgeous earrings have 9 faceted Austrian Crystal rhinestones (1 emerald cut, 1 round brilliant cut and 7 Pear shape cuts) which are all present and prong set. Nothing sparkles or is more beautiful than quality vintage jewelry with quality rhinestones and these signed WEISS earrings are, without a doubt, no exception. The Silvertone settings have secure clip fasteners that carry the WEISS signature. About WEISS: According to Fred Rezazadeh in his book entitled, Costume Jewelry: A Practical Handbook Value Guide, 1998, the author states that Weiss jewelry is comparable to Eisenberg and Bogoff jewelry; without a doubt, the company manufactured some of the most beautiful and appealing rhinestone jewelry of the Post WWII era. The company offered high quality costume jewelry with excellent Austrian rhinestones of exceptional quality and clarity. The company, being founded by Albert Weiss, a former Coro employee, in New York City in 1942, continued operating after Albert's retirement by his son Michael Weiss, but the firm ceased operations in the early 1970s.
