Vintage 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy restrike photograph (not a vintage original photo printed at the time it was taken, but one printed from the original negative at a later time) from the classic 1940's sci-fi action serial, FLASH GORDON CONQUERS THE UNIVERSE, released in 1940 by Universal Pictures and directed by Ford Beebe and Ray Taylor. Flash Gordon, Dale Arden and Dr. Zarkov return to the planet Mongo for an antidote to the Purple Death, which wreaking destruction on Earth. However, Ming the Merciless has other plans for them. The cast includes Buster Crabbe, Carol Hughes, Charles Middleton, Anne Gwynne, Frank Shannon, John Hamilton, and Herbert Rawlinson. The image features an interior shot of Emperor Ming (Charles Middleton) giving orders to his unformed and helmeted men (one of whom is holding a ray gun) while Sonja (Anne Gwynne) and Professor Gordon (John Hamilton, right), watch what is about to happen. Printed from the original negative, most likely in the 1940's or 1950's, it is in fine+ condition with a light horizontal wave through the center that is not a crease and various signs of light wear on the corners. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, writing, or other flaws.
