Vintage original 11x14 in. US lobby card from the classic 1960's Greenwich Village-themed drama/romance, TWO FOR THE SEESAW, released in 1962 by United Artists and directed by Robert Wise. Based upon the play by William Gibson, Robert Mitchum and Shirley MacLaine in this spicy and poignant love story about a free-spirited Greenwich Village girl who hooks up with a brooding Nebraska lawyer. The cast includes Edmon Ryan, Elisabeth Fraser, Eddie Firestone, Billy Gray, Julie Allred, Ken Berry, Bill Borzage, and Danny Borzage. The image features an interior shot inside of a New York cab as lawyer Jerry Ryan (Robert Mitchum) enjoys a happy moment with fun-loving Gittal Mosca (Shirley MacLaine). As indicated in the center of the bottom border, this is lobby card #7 from the set of 8 cards. It is unrestored in near-fine condition with small creases of varying sizes in the bottom half of the left border and in the bottom border; a small water stain in the bottom border; and light signs of wear on the top right corner. There are no pinholes, tears, writing, or other flaws. Shirley MacLaine and Robert Mitchum began a love affair that lasted for years during the shooting of this film, which was based on the Broadway play that starred Anne Bancroft and Henry Fonda. Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman were both set to do this film, but when Taylor became ill during the early filming of Cleopatra (1963), Newman was able to do The Hustler (1961) instead.
