King Gyanendra wearing plumbed crown and temple of Goddes Taleju on front. First line of text at upper left shorter than second line - signature: Bijay Nath Bhattarai (2005-2007 2009-2010). "R" in word "RUPAIYAN" on back spelled differently. Catalog value $3.00. Taleju temple was built in the 16th century, on Durbar Square, Kathmandu. Dedicated to Taleju, aslo a form of goddess Darga, this temple is only open to the public one day a year. The Kings of Nepal cannot rule without the favor of this goddess. It was buiilt by the King Mahendra Malla. Musk ox and Mt. Everest on reverse. Watermark King Gyanendra 2nd image note under ultaviolet (UV) light showing security inks.
