Descripción del Artículo

Indonesia, Sultanate of Palembang (Islamic States of Indonesia) Tin 1 Pitis, Sultan Muhammad Bahauddin. 1193 AH (1779 AD). (0.55g; about 14.2mm). O./ Arabic inscription in three lines.?? ????? ?? ??? ????? ????? Al Sul?an fi bilad Palembang sanat 1193 tr: The Sultan of Palembang City year AH 1193. R./ Plain. This type has been reported with various dates. However, Mitchiner Yih (2013:37-38) and Robinson (2015) concurred that all variants seem to be the same issue from AH 1193 (= AD 1779), which corresponds to the reign of Muhammad Bahauddin (1776?1803) in the Palembang Sultanate. The confusion arose from the distorted numerals; numeral 9 ? are prone to be distorted into 8 ? or 6 ?. The numeral 1 ? sometimes get reduced into a short stroke that can be easily mistaken as 0 ?.Palembang#5.43 R10 [extremely rare] $40
