Two front slash pockets, mother-of-pearl button closures at the waist, side snaps, and double-button cuff closures. Exceptionally well-preserved example of early 20th-century sporting or casual trousers. Provenance Note: Linen knickers and kickers were popular in the 1920s and 1930s for golf, cycling, and casual wear. Depression-era examples in natural linen are less common, as most surviving pairs are wool. Functional side closures and cuff buttons were typical of the era?s tailoring.
