Descripción del Artículo

This is for a black and white copy of a vintage 1940's "Detroit News the Home Newspaper "quilt transfers plus pattern layout copy. The pattern was a hand out from them with 20 different blocks displayed plus one with the layout illustration instructions. There are 20 different rhyme characters .Each block when finished will measure 8" x 10".The layout sheet gives quilt assembly instructions and an overview of some of the blocks. Each character sheet gives the motif and suggestions for embroidering/applique that designs plus some neat ideas like: adding ruffled lace to Mary Quite Contrary's pantalets/using French knots to make Mary's Lamb soft wooly/put a little patterned quilt over My Son John/make an applique red white checkered gingham tablecloth for Jack Sprat/and many more. These may all be done in redwork which was popular at the time of the 30's.Or use colored thread or some parts may be appliqued. They even suggest,by means of carbon paper, transferring these simple outline designs to a child's wall (3'/4' from the floor)to forma border around the room that may be painted.Great thought..You will receive a copy of all 21 sheets. The Characters are: •Mother Goose •Hi Diddle,Diddle •Jack be Nimble •Little Tommy Tucker •Mary had Her Lamb •Old King Cole •Polly Put The Kettle On •Old Woman in the Shoe •Mary Quite Contrary •My Son John •Tom,the pipers' Son •Jack and Jill •Jack Sprat •Humpty Dumpty •Little Miss Muffet •Little Bo-Peep •3 Men in a Tub •Simple Simon •Curley Locks •There was a Crooked Man This is a black and white copy from my original yellowing newspaper pattern(seen in the picture). .To use this copy you will either need to trace the design with a transfer pen and then iron onto fabric or trace it with a pencil directly onto fabric.(completed linens not for sale)****************This material comes from a public domain source.{Printed in 1941 became public domain in the 1969}This is a photocopy of my original pattern/linen which is in the public domain and does not infringe upon any copyrights RE:COPYRIGHTS My reproductions are adapted from original vintage transfers/patterns/linens in my personal collection. The ORIGINALS are now in the Public Domain because their copyright has expired....Because of alterations made by my editing these reproduction are entirely copyrighted by craftycharlie's and may not be recopied in any media.Purchases of these reproductions does not constitute permission to copy or reproduce.
