Fantastic antique vintage find- a complete wedding trousseau from the Victorian Era, in a wearable size! This beautiful set consists of a pair of bloomers or drawers, closed crotch, with MOP button closure and fancy trim- more on that later! The next piece, in order of wearing, is a matching extra full petticoat with a 4 button closure. The next piece, although it doesn't match in trim is another extra fancy petticoat with dropped waist and mop button closure. The chemise, the next sleeveless, is sleeveless and the waist is emphasized and it has two button closures at the shoulders. The piece de la resistance is the outer robe- stunning! It and all the other pieces have unbelievable handwork, and loads of handmade rick-rack lace and the crosshatching between the pin-tucks is such a lovely touch. This set is as found, unwashed, in the cedar chest, still smells of cedar. It has a few stains, and few pulls, but overall, excellent condition.
