Originally belonging to my neighbor's Grandmother, this ANTIQUE, VINTAGE, Marked “Gold Washed Sterling Red Enamel Cross WMS ULCA Life member Women's Missionary Society United Lutheran Church in America Scatter Lapel Pin" was made by J.F. Apple Co. and dates to the mid-1940s. Passed down to her mother, it passed to my neighbor upon her mother's death in 2008. Getting ready to move to a smaller home, she has NO children and has asked me to help her sell many of the things she can't take with her; it comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home. Cross Shaped, it measures approximately 7/8ths of an inch tall and approximately 5/8ths of an inch wide with the pinback measuring approximately 3/4ths of an inch long, working smoothly and holding securely; it is Marked with the "Apple A" logo used by J.F. Apple Co located in Lancaster Pennsylvania from 1934-1950. A Cross cover in Deep Red Enamel contains the words "Life Member" on the horizontal and the letters "WMS ULCA" on the vertical.
