Original painted deed / document box. The size is approximately 7.5 inches by almost 12.5 inches by 7 inches tall at its tallest. Hinges might be moved or re worked does have one nail missing ?. This box dates 1892 / on the front bottom 18 on one panel and 92 in the other. The interior is painted red but I believe that it has been possibly embellished at one time or another, I'm not positive on this issue. The painted design is all original and note the worm holes in wood on the bottom. . I believe this is the Window panel design. I lost the info I had. My Grandfather was a Reputable Antiques dealer in Lebanon PA, passed in 1954. This was a family piece handed down. This has been in the family over 75 years. This is not a reproduction. I believe this was a Wedding box. This will be sold as is as found! The starting bid is very low for pricing I have seen over the years. I've been down sizing and selling some of the family pieces. I've had multiple opinions on the box most favorably of it's origin and authenticity.
