The item is made of carved wood with a black ebonised or painted black and parcel gold gilded finish. The base looks to be Asian in origin and likely Chinese (see photos). The base measures about 2.25 inches high, it is about 4.4 inches wide at the base of the longest side, and about 3.3 inches wide from side to side at the short side. The top portion of the wooden base measures about 4 inches wide by 3 inches wide. The base likely hald an antique carved statue or sculpture at one point, which is no longer present. The item is not marked by the maker. The item is antique. The item is from an estate liquidation. The wood base has some losses, scuffs, scratches, finish, paint, gold gilding losses and some wear (see photos and / or written description for the condition of this item). A nice old antique wooden stand for display of a vase, carving bronze statue or to add to your collection.
