BING GRONDAHL (B G) 1930 Christmas Jubilee Plate THE OLD ORGANIST is the title of the BING GRONDAHL (B G) 1930 Christmas Jubilee Plate, commemorating 35 years of B G Christmas plates 1895-1930. It features an older gentleman in church robes sitting at a very large church pipe organ. Artwork by C. Ersgaard. The scene is embossed on Danish porcelain and hand painted in traditional Copenhagen blue under the glaze. Diameter 9 inches. Pierced foot for hanging wire. Appropriately marked on the back, including the three tower trademark of Bing Grondahl. The first Jubilee Plate was issued in 1915 to commemorate 20 years of what has become the world’s most popular and longest running series of collector plates. Jubilee plates were issued every five years through 2015, all in the large 9 inch size, each featuring a scene taken from a popular Christmas plate from the past.
