Balneum Plus Bath Oil, 500ml Balneum Plus Bath Oil is a powerful moisturising bath oil that contains active ingredients designed to relieve itching of dry skin, and to leave it feeling smoother and softer. Skin conditions like psoriasis deprive the skin of moisture, leaving it itchy, red, and sore. Itchiness associated with these conditions can cause sufferers to scratch their skin and worsen the condition. This bath oil contains both lauromacrogols and soya bean oil that work together to improve symptoms of dry skin conditions. Lauromacrogols are local anaesthetics that help to ease itching with its anti-pruritic action. The soya bean oil helps to hydrate the skin and restores suppleness. It works as an emollient, forming tiny droplets in water and leaving a protective, ?occlusive? layer on the skin surface that slows evaporation, helping the upper skin layers to retain more moisture. Balneum Plus Bath Oil can be used by all age groups as a replacement for standard soaps and cleansers, which may strip the skin of essential oils. Full immersion in the bath water soothes and moisturises the entire body, helping to prevent skin from drying out; but the oil can also be used in the shower. Ingredients GLYCINE SOJA OIL LAURETH-9 ASCORBYL PALMITATE GLYCERYL STEARATE CITRATE PROPYLENE GLYCOL PARFUM Directions Shake the bottle of Balneum Plus Bath Oil before use. Then add it to warm or lukewarm water as the bath is running, using the recommended measurements detailed below, and mix well. When suffering from pruritus (itching) the water temperature should be as low as can be tolerated. For a full adult bath: add around 20ml of oil to around 100 litres of bath water. Soak for 10-20 minutes, but no longer. For a partial bath in a sink: add around 2.5ml of oil to around 5 litres of water. Gently rub the water over the affected area. For a child or newborn baby bath: add around 5ml of oil to the water and gently sponge over the skin for a few minutes only. Pat dry with a towel rather than rubbing, which will remove the protective oil layer. In the case of extremely dry skin, you can use 2-3 times the amounts detailed above. Frequency and duration of baths will depend on the severity of your skin condition. In general, the oil should be used at least three times per week by adults (or as directed by your doctor). Daily bathing is generally recommended for babies and children. If you only have a small, localised patch of dry skin that does not require total immersion of the body in water, use a bowl or sink for a partial bath with the recommended amounts above. Do not use soap with the bath oil. This will remove the protective emollient layer from the skin. If you want to use the oil in the shower, first apply it evenly over the body without adding water. The excess oil can be removed under the shower, but take care not to excessively rinse and remove the desired oils from the skin. Precautions Store Balneum Plus Bath Oil out of children?s sight and reach. Do not get the oil in the eyes. In the event of contact, rinse with plenty of clean water and, if swallowed, seek medical help. Clean the bath or shower well after bathing, by using a detergent to remove traces of oil and then rinsing with hot water. The bath oil makes bathroom surfaces extra slippery, so take extra caution when getting into or out of the bath. If you are allergic to soya, peanuts, or any of the listed ingredients, do not use Balneum Plus Bath Oil. Sufferers of fresh pustular forms of psoriasis should avoid use of this oil. Always consult a doctor before bathing fully in this oil if you have major skin injuries, any acute skin disease, severe febrile and infectious diseases, cardiac problems, or hypertension. No extra precautions are recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, but if you are unsure, check with your doctor. Side Effects In very rare cases, use of this product has caused unexpected burning, itching or reddening of the skin; pustular rash may also occur. Allergic reactions to soya oil and peanuts are particularly important to bear in mind, and other ingredients such as benzylbenzoate (in the perfume oil) may cause irritation to the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes.
