Comments…...........Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on front and as watermark. Shaheed Minar monument (martyrs' monument) of the Language Movement in Dhaka on reverse.
1. The size of the note is 100mm 60mm and is signed by the Finance Secretary;
2. This note is printed on highly durable paper containing synthetic fiber;
3. This note contains the following watermarks:
? The Portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Muzibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation;
? Numeral ‘2’ as very bright electrotype watermark just below the portrait;
? Electrotype watermark of the logo of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on the left side
of the portrait which is brighter than the portrait.
4. The note has a 2mm security thread on the left which is embedded inside the note and can be seen from both sides when seen against the light;
5. There are repeated microprints of the text ‘BANGLADESH’ inside the vertical pattern on the left to the portrait which can only be seen with magnifying glass.

Taka = Bengali word Taka comes from Sanskrit word Tankah meaning a "stamped coin" which may be related to Mongolian Tamga "stamp, seal".
