Descripción del Artículo

? Bergamot Orange (Citrus bergamia) is a small to medium citrus tree with a spreading habit and thornless branches. This variety is grafted onto semi-dwarf rootstock and will reach about 10–15 feet tall in the ground or 6–8 feet when grown in pots. Trees are self-fertile and produce medium-sized fruit with a slightly rough yellow rind, rich in aromatic oils. ? The rind oil of Bergamot is highly prized for flavoring Earl Grey tea and is widely used in perfumes, cosmetics, and foods. Italy is the primary producer of Bergamot oil, though this tree can be successfully grown at home in warm climates. ? Best grown in U.S.D.A. zones 8–11, Bergamot should be protected from temperatures below 28F. In zones 4–7, it can be grown in containers and brought indoors during the winter. ? Bergamot oranges are sometimes confused with Makrut Lime, which is also called "Thai Bergamot," but they are distinct species. This tree is valued for both its ornamental appeal and its culinary and aromatic uses. ? Shipping to Californmia now! Your order will arrive in good condition.
