It is attached with a Beva adhesive that does no harm and is completely reversible if ever desired. The Mylar was perforated so the canvas can breathe. Over the years, when a painting was wrinkled and need support, I had this done. It is so superior over linen because it is clear, and you can see through to the actual canvas.
