CIRCA 1942-1943, WOMENS ARMY AUXILIARY CORPS, COAT BUTTON, ALBERTS: GI-114, VINTAGE During WWII, there was a shortage of metal. Due to the shortage, some insignia and buttons were made of Bakelite or a plastic material. 28mm. Button displays an spread winged eagle, on a stippled field. Steel shank is intact. This button was in use from May 1942 to July 1943, when this Corps was changed to the Women?s Army Corps, wearing the General Service button of the Regular Army.
