The pan is 1/2 in. deep with side storage and includes 8-32 threads for cover plates and lightweight fixtures and 10-24 threads for ceiling fans and heavier fixtures. The box supports fans up to 70 lbs. and lighting fixtures up to 150 lbs. It comes with everything you need for installation, including a plastic cover to protect wires during drywall installation and painting.
