THE CONFEDERACY, 1861-1865. Columbia Masterworks A-111 (4) four 7" 45 rpm records in beautifully embossed fabric album with gilt titles and illustrations, applied flag lithograph, and attached 32-page illustrated book about the Civil War and the Confederate Army. Columbia Records proudly presents "The Confederacy" based on music of the South during the Years 1861-1865. Featuring the National Gallery Orchestra, conducted by Richard Bales; the Cantata Choir of the Lutheran Church of the Reformation, Mezzo-Soprano Florence Kopleff, Baritone Thomas Pyle, and Narrator Reverend Edmund Jennings Lee. Recorded at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. Civil War book includes essays by Bruce Catton and Clifford Dowdey. Measures 12" x 10.5". Released 1955. Condition: Records are VG+. Cover is VG+ with small red stain at top center. Attached book is in excellent condition, with tissue-guarded pages. No promo or cut-out markings of any kind.
