Descripción del Artículo

An original oil painting by Deborah Jones titled "Talking to dolly" The work, which is signed, is on board and mounted in a gilt / gold trim frame that compliments the work very well. The subject matter is of a young girl in a slightly austere surrounding of her bedroom. There is a slightly spooky or creepy feel to the work given by the darkened shrouding of the back wall, the unattended dolls and the ?always in attendance?, black cat. It is quite atmospheric in a way and is a nicely executed by a renowned artist Condition: Both frame and art work are in good condition. No damage Size: The visible area is 23 x 21 cm The frame measuring 34 x 32 cm Please refer to ALL photos for Condition prior to bidding / buying Item sold as described above and seen in Photos. British artist Deborah Jones grew up in Bristol, before moving to London where she established herself. As her popularity grew, she began exhibiting her work around the United Kingdom and Europe. Eventually, oil painter Deborah Jones went to America where she also gained success. Frank Sinatra was a collector, and in 1973, Cary Grant purchased every piece in her London show. In addition to being a beloved artist, Deborah Jones designed for the British Film Studio and theaters in London's West End. While working in her Bath studio in 1987, she sketched a bear which was used by Andrew Brownsword for his greeting card business. Hallmark bought the company, hired Jones, and expanded the much loved Forever Friends Bear brand. Her love of whimsical teddy bears and dolls is evident in Deborah Jones' still life paintings
