About the item: Measuring approximately 4 1/4 by 6 inches, this note card features a scene from the interior to the classic D D Module 'In search of the Unknown'. The cover to the module was illustrated by Darlene and the back of the postcard is hand-signed by Darlene. Please note- the signature is real. It is the actual, hand-signed signature of Darlene. It is not a pre-printed image on the post card. The card was released in the 2021 Dungeons Dragons postcard set. About the artist: Artist/writer/calligrapher Darlene was a TSR artist during the games Golden Age, producing artwork in the late 70's and early 80's for the Dungeon Master's Guide, Deities Demigods, The Rogues Gallery, In Search of the Unknown, White Plume Mountain, Legends Lore, creatures for the Monsters Card Set 3, the cover to Dragon Magazine #37 (which also introduced her "Jasmine" adventure strip that ran in the magazine for the next year), and more. She is perhaps best known, however, as the calligrapher who created the maps for the World of Greyhawk Fantasy Game Setting in 1980. Over the course of the next four decades (for the entire lifespan of published Greyhawk material), Darlene's maps would continue to serve as the basis of all the Greyhawk maps that would follow by both TSR and Wizards of the Coast. This includes the Living Greyhawk Campaign (which had over a thousand adventures published that were enjoyed by tens of thousands of players).
