Hides were painted by Indians to depict important events in their lives. This hide chronicles the migration of the buffalo from the mountain meadows of summer to the plains of winter. Sheep wool and beaded tassels are wrapped on a cedar stick, with a hide laced to the stick. Feathers, beads and tassels accent the tees pees, ponies and buffalo. No two are alike.
