Descripción del Artículo
Originally, Dionysos was the Greek god of fertility. Later, he became best known as the god of wine and pleasure. The Romans called him Bacchus. Dionysos was the son of chief god Zeus and king's daughter Semele. He made many journeys. Everywhere he went, he planted vines and taught people all about wine culture. On his travels, Dionysos was accompanied by satyrs (demons) and "maenads" or "bacchantes": possessed women who indulged in ecstasy.
