Catalog Number: CS-9714 Condition Details: Still in ORIGINAL SHRINK-WRAP (opened). Vinyl plays with occasional light-crackles (play-graded). Cover has a few creases near edges; light-scuffing on places not covered by shrink, splits/missing sections of shrink on left sides (front/back). Inner-sleeve is elektra; one seam partially split. Tracks: Soul Searchin' Sunny With Time There Is Change Nothing To Do See To Your Neighbor Qualified Hey, Little Girl Mystery My Woman That Hangs Around The House About The Record: An American Music Band, by Electric Flag, marked a transitional phase for the band after the departure of founding guitarist Mike Bloomfield in May 1968 due to personal conflicts and drug issues. Without Bloomfield's signature guitar work, the album shifted toward a more soul-oriented sound under drummer and vocalist Buddy Miles' growing influence, featuring prominent horn arrangements and covers alongside originals mostly penned by vocalist Nick Gravenites. Historically significant as one of the earliest pop recordings to incorporate sound and voice samples blended with music, it reflected the band's evolving "American music" concept?fusing blues, rock, soul, and jazz?while foreshadowing the demise of this influential late-1960s supergroup that had pioneered horn-driven psychedelic rock. The LP includes tracks like the Bobby Hebb cover Sunny, where Miles takes lead vocals, and Herbie Rich's saxophone-driven Qualified. Despite its lack of commercial success, the album captures a pivotal moment in the era's experimental music scene, bridging the Electric Flag's innovative debut A Long Time Comin' with Miles' subsequent solo ventures.
