A striking Mid Century Scandinavian ceramic dish, this "Butterfly" dish was created by Birgitte Skyttern for ELLE KERAMIKK, and shows a wonderful folk art meets hipster modern design of a Butterfly, in those great Norwegian soft colors we love to see. Birgitte Skyttern also worked for Bjorre Norsk Keramikk and created some of the most charming Midcentury Norwegian designs out there, and made this little gem sometime in the 1960's. ELLE KERAMIKK, located outside Oslo in Torkildstranda, was a ceramic studio of wonderful potters working from 1942-1967, and is very collectible today in the Scandi pottery world... a wonderful addition to your Mid Century ceramic or Scandi pottery collection, this will receive compliments for its interesting design and colors, and be not only decorative but useful as a small plate for food service on a buffet...Great design is great design, no matter the decade, style or size of the item.
