Waters expresses her sentiment "In His Love"
Autograph Sentiment signed: "In His Love/Ethel Waters", 5x4. Ethel Waters' singing career spanned from Philadelphia as "Sweet Mama Stringbean" to New York at the Lincoln Theatre in Harlem (1917). She performed at the Cotton Club in the 1920s and appeared on Broadway in musicals and dramas. Waters, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in Pinky (1949), also played the title role in Beulah, the first television dramatic series to star a Black performer (1950-1952). Upper left blank edge lightly creased, stray ink marks to left of signature. Lightly soiled. Overall, fine condition.
