This is a small, vintage, natural, Florida Fighting Conch seashell, latin name Strombus alatus, found in Florida over 35 years ago by an avid shell collector. This sub-species of conch is a marine gastropod from the Strombidae, or true conch family. It is found in the Western Atlantic from North Carolina, throughout Florida, and in the Gulf of Mexico. The gorgeous specimen has brown to caramel to peach to cream to white hues. The shell has been polished and is in great shape without breaks or cracks. It does have a small cluster of white barnacles on the lower body. The conch shell is approximately 2.75" long, 1.75" wide. The seashell would make a wonderful addition to any shell collection or as an accent piece for any aquarium, beach, or nautical decor.
