(Series: English Rose Collection) Light pink. Moderate, old rose fragrance. Average diameter 3.25". Medium, very full (41+ petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Tall, climbing, upright. Large, semi-glossy, medium green foliage. Height: 4OE' to 8' (130 to 245cm). Width: 42" to 10' (105 to 305cm). USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Can be used for cut flower or garden. Can be grown as a shrub. can be trained as a climber. Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant. Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. Flutist James Galway was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, 8 December 1939. His namesake rose was presented at the May 2000 Chelsea Flower Show. Our mother plant climbs up along a pergula and is full of the most beautiful blooms for a long period and then blooms intermitingly throughout the season. It is very disease free, nice foliage, great fragrance, many peteled Austin. We grow many David Austins and this is one of his very best. It is a climber (or can be grown as a tall upright).
