Descripción del Artículo

Hardcover edition about 6" x 9" in Good to condition. Published in 1941 and apparently used for some number of years. I suspect it was a standard text in a Catholic School very likely the former Norfolk Catholic High now relocated to Virginia Beach and renamed for one Bishop Ireton but everyone now just calls it Catholic High. There are no school markings so I can't be absolutely sure, but from the cover wear we know it was used for a number of years. I would say chances are better than 95%. There is two names inside (Heiberger and Trammel) and both trace to Norfolk families, and as a Norfolk native myself I may even have met them. One of these people was the daughter of an Admiral and passed away in 2014 and her obituary came right up. The book was found at an sale in Virginia Beach recently so it probably has not traveled far. Interestingly there is a small piece of a magazine used as a book mark and it bears a 1965 date. I find it hard to figure any explanation for the long time of use, the wear, and the presence of multiple known family names than for this to have come from what was the only Catholic High School in the City. Has some humorous writing inside that I get a kick out of. In the main section just a very few words here and there are underlined, or there is some small notation made by hand. This is an introductory text for first year Latin students. Souvenir of some prominent Norfolk families and a historic Norfolk High School both. Worth considering.
