UP FOR SALE: Lucky Boy Survival Knife with Sheath Stainless Blade Japan Vintage 1959-60s Here is a fascinating boys knife, appropriately named "LUCKY BOY" which originally came with two exchangeable blades, (THIS KNIFE HAS ONLY THE STAIGHT BLADE), aluminum handle with individual pockets which contain a compass,(THE ARROW IS OFF THE NEEDLE) a level, a candle (MISSING), fishing line with hook and lead weight, 2 types of matches and a thermometer, these items are protected by a clear plastic cover fastened by three aluminum screws, (ONE IS MISSING) to the aluminum handle. When the large knurled knob is completely unscrewed to it's stop, the knife blade swings out and the blade an be exchanged with the saw blade, (THE SAW BLADE IS MISSING), or vice-versa. Tightening the knob secures your blade of choice securely. A great survival knife for the young survivalist. The patent number on the rear of the knife states: 2904374, however, the correct patent number is: 2904373, one digit off, and was never corrected by the Patent Office. The correct patent information is included here, and is shown on the very last photo. The U. S. knife was made in Japan, and the patentees were Lloyd Dowdy and Albert Daughtry. Mr. Dowdy was from Mohawk, Oregon, and Mr. Daughtry was from Eugene, Oregon. Considering the knife is 60+ years old, overall the knife is in good condition.
