We did not make these but, they look to be well made for being "home made" They were not used on the road, but part of a permanent recording setup, so did not get much plugging or unplugging. The connectors are real Switchcraft and look as good as new Note one box hole is not perfectly aligned with edge of jack and slightly showing at edge of connector if you are fussy. Boxes have some signs of handling/use Good for a quick analog 4ch mic snake or even making up cat5 to xlr snake There are also 4 holes in back for easy wall mount. Being used there may still be a bit of wire to unsolder from back of each jack. Sure you could make these, but by the time you buy 4 A3F jacks, metal box, paint, and take the time to drill the metal it may be simpler to just buy these! approx 5x4x2 inches box
