This is a vintage original 8x10 in. U.S. single-weight glossy photograph from the lavishly-mounted silent film costume drama/romance, MONSIEUR BEAUCAIRE, released in 1924 by Paramount Pictures and directed by Sidney Olcott. The film stars Rudolph Valentino as the Duke de Chartres/ Monsieur Beaucaire. The image features an interior long shot of the handsome Duke de Chartres (Rudolph Valentino) as he looks with some doubt at M. Badger (Frank Shannon) while the Duke of Winterset (Ian Maclaren, second from right) and another aristocrat watch the two men as another man watches as well. Printed on single-weight stock with a glossy finish, this vintage original photograph is in very fine- condition with light signs of wear in the borders and a couple of very unobtrusive on Shannon's image. The image quality is razor-sharp with very fine detail and beautiful contrast. Provenance: The Sydney Barker Collection (as indicated on the verso). Mr. Barker was perhaps the most famous of the early collectors on Rudolph Valentino.
