Descripción del Artículo

This is a Mid Century porcelain trinket, pin, or jewelry dish with a gold rim and hand-painted flower design (likely a cherry tree bud) marked on the back "Japan" in red. After the McKinley Tariff act of 1921, porcelain with Japanese characters were replaced with the word Japan. Between 1945 and 1952 the wording changed to "Occupied Japan". Its possible that this dish could date between 1921 and WWII but it more likely dates to 1953 as my father was stationed in Japan that year during the Korean Conflict. He sent many lovely porcelain pieces to my Grandmother during that time and I believe this is one of them. The small dish could also be used as an ashtray. The Mid Century ceramic dish is in great shape, free from breaks or cracks. It measures about 3.5" x 2.5" x .75". For More Information: https://japaneseporcelain.me/japanese-porcelain-marks
