Catalog Number: COM-101 Condition Details: Also included: "Look" Magazine article clipping about the Monkees from 1966. Vinyl plays with crackles, clicks, and a few pops (play-graded). Cover has a few creases near edges; scuffing and some surface impressions (front/back); some surface abrasions on front, massive ones on back. Inner-sleeve is generic white. Spine shows significant wear and barely readable text. Moderate Shelf-wear along bottom-edge, much more wear along top-edge and corners; top edge entirely split, partial split near bottom-right. Opening is crisp with signs of use and divots. Mono pressing with red label. (Not a cut-out.) Tracks: (Theme From) The Monkees Saturday's Child I Wanna Be Free Tomorrow's Gonna Be Another Day Papa Gene's Blues Take A Giant Step Last Train To Clarksville This Just Doesn't Seem To Be My Day Let's Dance On I'll Be True To You Sweet Young Thing Gonna Buy Me A Dog About The Record: The Monkees is the debut album by The Monkees. It was the first of four consecutive U.S. number one albums for the group, taking the top spot on the Billboard 200 for 13 weeks, after which it was displaced by the band's second album. It also topped the UK charts in 1967. The Monkees has been certified 4x platinum by the RIAA, with sales of over five million copies. The song Last Train to Clarksville was released as a single shortly before the release of the album and went to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It was the only hit single from the album. I'll Be True to You was previously released as a single by The Hollies in January 1965 under the title Yes I Will. The photos in the "film strip" on the left side of the back cover are from two episodes of The Monkees TV series.
