Doty went on to study at Los Angeles City College where he received his Associates Degree in Fine Art. Neal then completed his education at California State University at Northridge and earned his BA Degree in Fine Art. In 1976, Doty was awarded 1st Place in the Larchmont Art Exhibit in Hollywood, California. Although his methods of painting have adapted to a very unique style, his works show influences ranging from Picasso's cubism period to the works of Matisse and Dali. Neal Doty is an artist of control and aptitude evolved into high expectations of artistry. Doty has exhibited a true love of his work throughout his life, whether drawing, painting, etching or printmaking. His art has appeared at the N.Y. Art Expo in New York City, the Wash Art Fair in Washington, D.C., and the Basel Art Fair in Basel, Switzerland.
