Boxed with an on off 12 volt AC adapter. The halogen lamp is easily replaceable of ever needed only if you leave it on constantly, but is really cheap to replace as you can by at any hardware store. The piece can hold weight up to 7 pounds and without the rotation 8 pounds. The light goes from white to blue to green, to yellow, and to red.
