This is a Nicestuff 68846 (aka NSD-68846 or KRAM 68846) carkit-specific adapter for use with their NSD-series, EZ-series and PR-series carkits integration harnesses. The black connector on this adapter is designed to plug directly into the Motorola IHF1000, IHF1500 or IHF1700 carkits with the 18 pin main control unit/ECU connector. When used with a Nicestuff / KRAM vehicle-specific adapter harness (see the other items in my booth for a selection of harnesses), on activation of the Mute line by the carkit, the vehicle audio will switchover to the handsfree kit. Using the 68846 removes the need to use the Motorola power harness that comes with the IHF kits, so this saves space behind the dash in that there are fewer wires to tuck back in behind the dash as part of the installation. This adapter directs supply of the following connections to the carkit: VBATT - constant +12V power supply Ground - chassis ground Ignition - switched +12V signal Mute - active-low trigger Mute connection Speaker (+) - differential mono audio signal from the carkit or device Speaker (-) - differential mono audio signal from the carkit or device This adapter can be modified to work with other integration harnesses that do not have the KRAM 6-pin Molex interface connector, like those from Peripheral or PAC-Audio, Cellsite, etc. I have a mobile electronics installation business and am selling off some excess inventory.
