'Separationalism: Cornered' (Set of 9) by Carla Dancey. Each of these nine paintings has multi-colored triangles which are separated by metallic gold lines. During the height of the pandemic, I began to separate everything from everything in my artworks. I felt isolated, separated and cornered and my psychological state of mind was reflected in my paintings. Each triangle has some whitewashing, similar to how the science and the truth and the lies all seemed to be blurred at a time when we needed to be able to separate the truth from the lies more than ever. This set of nine colorful acrylic paintings can be hung together to make a larger painting, behind a couch, for example. They hug the wall and look very sleek and modern. They are unframed but the paintings comes with hangers attached so that you can hang them flat against the wall without the additional expense of purchasing frames unless you would like to buy frames. Or, they can be hung individually around your space. They can also be hung horizontally or vertically. Each painting is on an 11" x 14" strong, durable, pet and child friendly canvas board. If they are hung as one painting, it will cover a minimum surface area of 42" x 33 ". The artworks have had two protective gloss varnish coatings applied for years of added protection making it easy to wipe off fingerprints, etc. They are quite glossy which makes them difficult to photograph.
