Descripción del Artículo

Pakedge RE-1 Enterprise Gigabit Wired Router 4 port LAN Switch Tested Working. Power cord and Ethernet patch cable included. Condition is "Used". Came from a working environment and has been tested for full functionality. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Pakedge RE-1 - 4 Port Multi-Media Router Performance The feature rich RE series of multimedia routers brings the power and flexibility of high performance networking to small and medium networks at an affordable price. Designed for a 300+ Mbps traffic throughput, and built for high performance while maintaining simplicity and architectural aesthetics, the RE series routers incorporate functional features and innovations aimed at small to medium size networks for residential and light commercial applications. The RE1 router is designed for basic networks that do not require traffic segmentation. High Performance Chipset High performance networking starts with the core. The engines powering the Pakedge routers are high performance processors optimized to process AV network traffic at high speeds. They work in conjunction with other network system components by taking on many of the packet-based communications maintenance tasks such as general TCP processing, network address translation, and some encryption/decryption tasks. AV traffic management is a key function and the router performs a critical part of that functionality. A high performance processor is critical to fast, accurate and reliable routing capabilities. Versatile gigabit ports. The RE series routers feature five gigabit Ethernet ports, two of which are configurable. The ports are as follows: Port 1 - WAN Port 2 - WAN/LAN (configurable) Port 3 - LAN Port 4 - LAN Port 5 - LAN (but configurable to use as Guest LAN) Port 2 can be configured as a second WAN port or as a traditional LAN port. It can be used in two ways ? failover protection or redundant port. In failover protection mode, two service lines from two independent WAN or Internet Service Provider (ISP) sources are connected to ports 1 and 2 ? one will be active and one in standby mode. When service from the first ISP is interrupted, the service in Port 2 is automatically activated to maintain service. In redundant port operation, one service line is connected to the router (either port 1 or 2, but not both). In the event that one of the WAN port experiences a problem, the cable is manually disconnected from the WAN port and connected to second WAN port. Port 5 is a LAN port that can be configured as an Internet only guest access port. When configured in this mode, any devices connected to this port (including switches), can only access the Internet with no access to the rest of the internal network. One practical application of this is connecting a dedicated bank of computers in a hotel or business center that is designated for Internet access only by guests.
