The third generation of this pan has a snap ring on the bottom end of the drive shaft which makes it much easier to install the new seal. The other two versions are more challenging unless you know how to remove the push/press on retainers or if you are able to source new push/press on retainers. **The pan castings vary by generation and production time. **All generations have variations. * Please remove your old seal before placing and order for a new one. *The success rate for removing a seal without damaging the pan beyond repair is 50%. *If you do not have the correct tools or equipment to do this repair I highly recommend that you find a professional to remove the old seal and to install the new seal.
