Descripción del Artículo

Route 10 is a major thoroughfare running from the South in Maryland to the North, but at one time it was a path. It became a little wider for horse drawn wagons and then widened again for cars and eventually it was macadam. The part of the road from Parkesburg to Oxford was delayed for a bit by the unexpected death of the commissioner who promised to finish the road. Before it was completed the road was avoided due to the mud and sand that halted traffic in inclement weather. Travelers became stuck in the mud and ruts along the path. It was a great day for this road opening on June 6, 1925. There is an itinerary for the day as well as a history of the road. The booklet has a couple of small tears and a crease on the cover and it is a little dog earred but definitely worthy of owning and collecting. It is complete. It is loaded with ads from the businesses of the day. It has 59 numbered pages. It is about 5 inches x 6 inches. We must collect 6% Pennsylvania Sales and Use Tax at checkout. Thanks for stopping by!
