Descripción del Artículo
Antique Color Postcard, circa 1930s. A rare Italian Artist-Signed Frederico Seneca advertising postcard for Perugine Cioccolato (Chocolate). Note the product endorsement by Benito Mussolini. Cartolina Postale divided back, unused. Condition: This is an original antique postcard, not a copy or reproduction. It is in very good to excellent condition with light corner wear and Portland, Maine public library circular stamp on reverse side. Comments: Federico Seneca (1891-1976) was an Italian advertising , drawing and graphic designer, and one of the most important Italian advertising poster designers. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino. Later he moved to Milan where he met Marcello Dudovich. Starting in 1919, and until 1935, he collaborated with Perugina Cioccolato and Buitoni as artistic director. He created and managed the graphic images and advertising posters of Cubist inspiration, purist and with elements attributable to the futurist Depero. In 1933 he opened his own studio, also in Milan, and worked until 1935 for Italrayon, Fiat and Cinzano.
